Learn more about Horizons Community Church
Horizons began as a church plant by Steve Todd, who was asked to start a church in south Lincoln. Pastor Steve started out with a small group of people that met to vision out what kind of church Horizons would be. This was Horizons first LifeGroup and continues to be the inspiration of why Horizons believes so strongly in community and small groups.
Seekers and doubters were whom Horizons wanted to reach. We continue to strive to build ministry opportunities and mission outreach events to reach seekers and doubters. We are a church where people can come as they are, grow as they continue to come, which then creates life-change.
We strive to become life-changed as we learn and grow our relationship with Jesus, striving to live like Him, and then change others’ lives by serving and giving of our time, talents, and treasures. We are Life-changed, Life-changers.
•Authentic, passionate, welcoming, and intentional people in a casual atmosphere
•Seekers and doubters finding new life in Jesus’ life
•Children and youth centered
•Founded on God’s Word as our authority, focused on Jesus’ life for example
Leading all to Jesus to become Life-Changed Life-Changers
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. – 2 Corinthians 5:17-18
We Will: be the church known for bringing all children and youth closer to Christ to lead the next generation church.
We Will: be intentional in reaching, cultivating, and equipping people to mature in the Holy Spirit.
•We Connect in Worship – encountering Jesus together
•We Grow with a Group – maturing spiritually together
•We Serve on The Team – shining Jesus’ light together
•We Give to the Mission – investing in hope together
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. – Colossians 1:9-14
